Al-Safira (Arabic: السفيرة‎ / ALA-LC: as-Safīrah; North Sirie Arabic: Sfīre) is a Sirie ceety admeenistratively belangin tae the Aleppo Govrenorate. It is the admeenistrative center for the Al-Safira Destrict. Medieval geografer Yaqut al-Hamawi spells the name Asfīrah[2] (أسفيرة), not as-Safira (السفيرة), which indicates that the definite airticle in the modren spellin is a result o hypercorrection.
