Next door tae the veelage haw is a fitbaa pitch for the youths o Tinwell that wis recently remade an flattened, wi new goal posts: it is rarely uised. An aw nearbi on Croun Lane is the veelage pub "The Crown" that is fairly quiet.

Ane crew member managit tae parachute safely but aicht ithers an 26 Pols paratruips o the Pols 1st Independent Parachute Brigade perished in the crash. The American casualties frae 315t Truip Carrier Group wur taken tae the Cambridge American Cemetery for burial an the Pols casualties wur taken tae the Pols Cemetery at Newark. Aw those killed are commemoratit in the kirk.
