The Rosetta Stane is a granodiorite stele, foond in 1799, inscrived wi three versions o a decree issued at Memphis, Egyp, in 196 BC on behauf o King Ptolemy V. The tap an middle texts are in Auncient Egyptian uisin hieroglyphic script an Demotic script, respectively, while the bottom is in Auncient Greek. As the decree is the same (wi some minor differences) in aw three versions, the Rosetta Stane proved tae be the key tae the decipherment o Egyptian hieroglyphs.
