River dowphins are the fower living species o dowphin that reside in freshwatter rivers an estuaries. River dowphins inhabit auries o Asie an Sooth Americae. Thay are classed in the Platanistoidea superfamily o cetaceans. Three species live in fresh watter rivers. The fowert species, the La Plata dowphin, lives in saltwatter estuaries an near-shore marine environments. However, it is scientifically classed in the river dowphin group rather than the oceanic dolphin faimily.
