Podkraj (German: Podkrai)[2] is a dounset in the Municipality o Hrastnik in central Slovenie. It lees on the richt bank o the Sava River. Tradeetionally the aurie wis pairt o the Lawer Carniola region. It is nou includit wi the rest o the municipality in the Central Sava Statistical Region.[3] It includes the hamlets o Sava (German: Savadörfl),[2] Koritnik, Strušce, Kladje, Ruda, Boriče, an Hribar.

The local kirk is dedicatit tae Saunt Nicholas. It dates tae the late 15t or early 16t hunderyear.[4]

Mass graves

Podkraj is the steid o three kent mass graves frae the period immediately efter the Seicont Warld War. The Boating Club Mass Grave (Slovene: Grobišče pri Brodarskem društvu) lees on the richt bank o the Sava, aboot 100 m east o the brig near the Hrastnik Boating Club. It conteens the remains o a unkent nummer o German sodgers that wur murthert here in Mey 1945.[5] The Sava Brig Mass Grave ([Grobišče pri mostu čez Savo] error: {{lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) lees on the richt bank o the Sava, aboot 100 m wast o the brig, at the steid o a firthen shed. It conteens the remains o a unkent nummer o German sodgers that wur murthert here in Mey 1945.[6] The Gas Station Mass Grave ([Grobišče pri bencinskem servisu] error: {{lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is locatit near the gas station wast o Podkraj on the richt bank o the Sava. It conteens the remains o civilian refugees that wur fleein towards Austrick at the end o the war, but wut interceptit bi the Yugoslav Airmy at Hrastnik an murthert.[7]
