Oort clood
The Oort clood /ˈɔːrt/[1] (cried efter the Dutch astronomer Jan Oort), or Öpik–Oort clood,[2] is a hypothesised spherical clood o maistly icy planetesimals that is thocht tae lig 50,000 AU, or aamaist a licht-year, frae the Sun.[3] This wad pit the clood aamaist a quarter o the wey tae Proxima Centauri, the nearest starn tae the Sun.
