The Nilgiri langur (Trachypithecus johnii) is a lutung (a teep o Auld Warld lug) foond in the Nilgiri Hills o the Wastren Ghats in Sooth Indie. Its range includes Kodagu in Karnataka an aw, Kodayar Hills in Tamil Nadu, an mony ither hilly auries in Kerala an Tamil Nadu. This primate haes glossy black fur on its boou an gowden broun fur on its heid. It is similar in size an lang-tailed like the gray langurs. Females hae a white patch o fur on the inner thigh. It teepically lives in troops o nine tae ten monkeys.[2] Its diet consists o fruits, shuits an leaves. The species is vulnerable due tae deforestation an poachin for its fur an flesh, the latter believit tae hae aphrodisiac properties.[3]
