Macropus is a marsupial genus that belangs tae the faimily Macropodidae. It haes 13 species which are further dividit intae 3 subgenera. The genus includes aw terrestrial kangaroos, wallaroos an several species o wallaby. The term itself is derived frae the Ancient Greek makros "lsng" an pous "fit". A further 11 extinct species are recognised. The type species is the Eastren Grey Kangaroo.
