Lercara Friddi is a comune (municipality) in the Province o Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, locatit aboot 45 kilometre (28 mi) sootheast o Palermo.
Foondit in 1595 by local feudataries, it is on the slopes o Madore Hill, atween the valleys o Fiumetorto an Platani rivers. In the past it wis a important minin centre, the anerly ane in the province o Palermo whaur sulphur wis excavatit.
On 25 Dizember 1893, eleiven fowk wur killed in the Lercara Friddi massacre durin the Fasci Siciliani uprisin efter a rally o peasants an sulphur miners that asked for the abolition o taxes an better wirkin condeetions.[2]
