Kotka is locatit on the coast o the Guwf o Finland at the mooth o Kymi River an it is pairt o the Kymenlaakso region in soothren Finland. The municipality haes a population o 52,899 (31 Januar 2019)[2] an covers an aurie o 949.77 square kilometre (366.71 sq mi) o which 678.45 km2 (261.95 sq mi) is watter.[6] The population densitie is 194.99 inhabitants per square kilometre (505.0/sq mi). The ceety centre o Kotka is locatit at Kotkansaari island.
