Hatay Province (Turkis: Hatay ili, pronounced [ˈhataj]) is the soothmaist province o Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast. It is bordered bi the Sirie govrenorate o Latakia tae the sooth an east an the Turkis provinces o Adana an Osmaniye tae the north. The province is pairt o Çukurova, a geographical, economical an cultural region that covers the provinces o Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, an Hatay. The admeenistrative caipital is Antakya (Antioch), while the lairgest ceety in the province is the port ceety o İskenderun (Alexandretta). Thare are mairch crossin pynts wi Sirie in the destrict o Yayladağı an at Cilvegözü in the destrict o Reyhanlı.

The maist prominent featur is the north-sooth leadin Nur Muntains an the heichest peak is Mığırtepe (2240m), ither peaks include Ziyaret dağı an Keldağ (Jebel Akra or Casius) at 1739 m. The folds o land that mak up the landscape o the province wur formed as the land masses o Arabian-Nubian Shield an Anatolie hae pushed intae ilk ither, meetin here in Hatay, a classic example o the Horst-graben formation. The Orontes River rises in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon an runs throu Sirie an Hatay, whaur it reserves the Karasu an the Afrin River. It flows intae the Mediterranean at its delta in Samandağ. Thare wis a lake in the plain o Amik but this wis drained in the 1970s, an the day Amik is nou the lairgest o the plains an an important agricultural center. The climate is teepical o the Mediterranean, wi warm wet winters an het, dry simmers. The muntain auries inland are drier than the coast. Thare are some mineral deposits, İskenderun is hame tae Turkey's lairgest iron an steel plant, an the destrict o Yayladağı produces a colourful marble cried Rose o Hatay.
