Denys Corbet
Denys Corbet (22 Mey 1826 – 21 Apryle 1909) wis a Guernsey poet, naïve penter, an schuilmaister, the seicont son o Pierre Corbet, a seafarer, an Susanne (née de Beaucamp). He wis born at La Turquie, Vale, Guernsey, Channel Islands an is thocht tae hae lost his parents in bairnheid. He marriet, probably in 1852, Mary "Elizabeth" Wellington (1833–1909) an haed sax childer.[1] Corbet wrote, for the maist pairt, in the Dgèrnésiais or Guernsey French leid.[2]
