Cercado is a province in the central pairts o the Bolivie depairtment o Tarija.
Location
[eedit | edit soorce]Cercado province is ane o sax provinces in the Tarija Depairtment. It is locatit atween 21° 15' an 21° 51' sooth an atween 64° 20' an 65° 00' wast.
The province borders Eustaquio Méndez Province in the northwast, José María Avilés Province in the soothwast, Aniceto Arce Province in the sooth, an Burdett O'Connor Province in the east.
The province extends ower 80 km frae north tae sooth, an 80 km frae east tae wast.
Population
[eedit | edit soorce]Main idiom o the province is Spaingie, spoken bi 99.4 %, while 11.5 % o the population speak Quechua, 2.4 speak Aymara, an 0.2 % Guaraní.
The population increased frae 108,241 inhabitants (1992 census) tae 153,457 (2001 census), an increase o 41.8 %. - 39.4 % o the population are younger than 15 year auld.
26.0 % o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 39.4 % hae nae sanitary facilities (1992).
12.2 % o the population are employed in agricultur, 0.1 % in minin, 11.5 % in industry, 76.2 % in general services (2001).
89.6 % o the population are Catholics, 6.3 % are Protestants (1992).
