The Atures Municipality is ane o the seiven municipalities (municipios) that mak up the soothren Venezuelan state o Amazonas an, accordin tae the 2011 census bi the Naitional Institute o Statistics o Venezuela, the municipality haes a population o 104,228.[1] The ceety o Puerto Ayacucho is the shire toun o the Atures Municipality.[2]
History

Demographics
[eedit | eedit soorce]The Atures Municipality, accordin tae a 2007 population estimate bi the Naitional Institute o Statistics o Venezuela, haes a population o 91,386 (up frae 74,066 in 2000). This amoonts tae 64.3% o the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 20.3 inhabitants per square kilometre (53/sq mi).[4]
Govrenment
[eedit | eedit soorce]The mayor o the Atures Municipality is Mireya Labrador, electit on 31 October 2004 wi 39% o the vote.[5] She replaced Angel Rodriguez shortly after the elections.[6] The municipality is dividit intae fower pairishes; Fernando Girón Tovar, Luis Alberto Gómez, Parhueña, an Platanillal (previous tae 18 Dizember 1997, the Atures Municipality conteened anerly a single pairish).[2]
