Allowa (Gaelic: Allmhaigh) is a umwhile veelage in Ayrshire, Scotland that is nou a suburb o Ayr. It lees soothlins fae Ayr, naur the moo o the river Doon on the Firth o Clyde.[1]

Rabbie Burns wis fae Allowa. There the Burns cottage (Burns cot hoose) in Allowa tae mynd o him. Anither pairt o Allowa that haes a link wi Burns is the Brig o Doon, a brig that gangs ower the river Doon an is gaun ower bi Tam O' Shanter in the eponymous poem.[2]
