Alexander James Stewart (born 29 November 1962) is a Scots Conservative Pairty politician that haes been a Memmer o the Scots Pairlament (MSP) for the Mid Scotland and Fife region syne 2016.[1]

Stewart stairtit his political thrift whan he wis electit tae Perth and Kinross Cooncil as a cooncillor for Perth City South.[2]

Stewart stuid in the 2015 general election as the Scots Conservative candidate for Perth and North Perthshire, comin seicont ahint the Scots National Pairty (SNP)'s Pete Wishart, that wis electit wi a near 10,000 majority.[3]

In the 2016 Scots Pairlament election, Stewart stuid as the Scots Conservative candidate for Clackmannanshire and Dunblane whaur he came third,[4] then wis electit frae the Mid Scotland and Fife regional leet. Aifter his election to the Scottish Parliament, he demittit as a cooncillor at the 2017 Scots local elections haein sert in the role for 18 year.[2]

Stewart campaigned for Britain tae leave the European Union in the 2016 EU Referendum.[5]

He uised tae be the the Scottish Conservative spokesbody for International Development and External Affairs in the Scots Pairlament; Stewart wis promuived tae Spokesperson an Shadow Minister for Local Government in Juin 2017 bi Scots Conservative Pairty leader Ruth Davidson.
