The mayor o the Alberto Arvelo Torrealba Municipality is Anibal José Chávez Frías, electit on 31 October 2004 wi 99% o the vote.[2] He replacit Noel Zamudia shortly efter the elections.[3] The municipality is dividit intae twa pairishes; Sabaneta an Rodríguez Domínguez.[4]
