Zelenograd wis foondit in 1958 an planned as center o textile industry initially. In 1962 Alexander Shokin (Chairman o State Committee o Electronic Technology, then first Meenister o Electronic Technology) proposed tae chynge the line o futur ceety business tae electronics.
