The Greeks referred tae Punjab as Pentapotamie, an inland delta o five convergin rivers.[6] In Avesta, the sacred text o Zoroastrians, the Punjab region is associatit wi the auncient hapta həndu or Sapta Sindhu, the Land o Seiven Rivers.[7] The Breetish uised tae caw Punjab "Oor Proushie."
