Leerics [edit]
Moonsorrow's leerics draw inspiration frae Finnish mythology, legends an poetry; since Tämä Ikuinen Talvi they hae been written exclusively in Finnish. For instance, the song "Sankaritarina" frae Voimasta Ja Kunniasta features leerics directly translated frae Hávamál.
Politics [edit]
In Aprile 2008, Moonsorrow an ither performers on the fowk metal festival Paganfest wur accused o being Nazis, racists, an fascists frae the German organizations Antifa an BIFF (Berliner Institut für Faschismusforschung). Ville Sorvali o Moonsorrow an Heri Joensen o Týr issued a joint video statement tae refute these accusations, notin that the baunds ar in nae way connectit tae fascist groups an actually ar against fascism. Guitarist Mitja Harvilahti told the German Feindesland webzine that the baund haes nane ava' tae dae wi fascism, an Mitja personally "strangly despises racists an Nazis."
