Valongo (Portuguese pronunciation: [vɐˈlõɡu] ( listen)) is a Portuguese municipality locatit in the Porto Destrict. The ceety population is 18,698, an the municipality is componit o 4 pairishes, o which three are ceeties (Alfena, Valongo an Ermesinde). The population in 2011 wis 93,858,[1] in a aurie o 75.12 km².[2] The twa maist populous ceeties (an pairishes) in the Valongo municipality are Ermesinde, wi a population o 38,315, which is essentially a residential suburb o Porto an Alfena which haes the maist industry in the municipality.
It is the location o the respectit Magic Valongo magic festival.
