The Soothren Reid Sea Region o Eritrea is ane o the sax main regions o Eritrea. It lies alang the soothren hauf o the Reid Sea, an contains the coastal ceety o Asseb. It borders the Northren Reid Sea Region, an haes an aurie o around 27,600km².

Location an climate

The Soothren Reid Sea Region extends ower 500km alang Reid Sea coast but is anerlie aroond 50km wide. Formin the major pairt o the Danakil Desert, its major touns include Asseb, Beilul, Rahaita an T'i'o. The heichest point in this region is Munt Ramlu (2248 meters).

It is generally considered ane o the maist inhospitable auries on the Yird, except alang the coast.

Habitat

Wildlife such as Hamadryas, Baboons, Soemmerring's gazelle, Dorcas gazelle, Warthog, Black-backed Jackal, Ruppells Sandfox, dikdik, Golden Jackal, hyena, Abyssinian Hare, Wild Ass an Ostriches are foond in this region. African Wild Dog wis an aw foond in this region, but their present condition is unkent. There hae been reports o Cheetah occurrin in this region, but there haes been nae evidence o their presence. It is extremely likely that baith Cheetah an Wild Dog are extinct in Eritrea.
