Primula scotica, commonly kent as poudert beau, is a species o flouerin plant in the primrose faimily, Primulaceae. It is endemic tae the north coast o Scotland, includin Sutherland, Caithness an Orkney. It is maist closely relatit tae Primula scandinavica that occurs in Norawa an north-wast Swaden, an mair distantly tae the Arctic species Primula stricta.[2] Primula scotica is easily distinguished frae ither Breetish primulas bi its bluish purpie flouers. It flouers in Mey an eften haes a seicont flouerin in Julie. In Orkney it is commonly seen on the sea cliffs at Yesnaby.
