Muffat taffee is a boiled sweetie makkit in tha Scots toon o Muffat.

Tha sweetie is weel kent fur its tangy and sweet centre, whilk gies tha sweet its unique flavour.[1]

Tha Muffat taffee auld faimily recipe is thocht tae hae been uised fur tha first time commercially bi awner Blair Blacklock's great-graund mither, Janet Cook Johnstone, aroond tha late 19th century. Tha taffee wis makkit bi haund in batches o aboot 3 kilogram at the time. It wis mainly selt in uncut flat roonds o mony sizes. It is still makkit in Muffat an ower 300 kilogram are makkit o tha sweet ilka week.[2]
