Rarity wis brocht up in Dechmont, Wast Lowden.[1] She jynt the National Youth Choir o Scotland at the age o echt, whaur she teuk tae tradeitional muisic.[2] She studied film an television at Glasgow University fur twa yeir afore switchin tae the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2012, studyin Scots muisic.[1]

In 2015, she wis invitit bi Phil Cunningham, the airtistic director o the tradeitional muisic depairtment at the Royal Conservatoire, an Joanie Madden, tae gang on tour wi Cherish the Ladies, tourin internationally wi thaim fur twa yeir whiles daein her lairnin.[1]

In 2015, 2017 an 2021, she haed a solo performance on BBC Scotland's Hogmanay Live.[3][4]

In 2016, she lowsed ae sax-track EP cried Beginnings.
