It's interesting to see that El Marino, a supposed online newspaper that is the successor of a print newspaper that ceased to exist almost a hundred years ago, was protected by the administrator called Diego Grez, who is also the "founder" of the online newspaper. This looks to me as a clearly conflict of interest. Regards. --Sfs90 (tauk) 22:16, 22 Dizember 2014 (UTC)

Sfs90, we don't have policies on COI here, even if we did, this would not be a violation IMO. Please do your research before wanting an admin to take action on anything. I request that Diego Grez unprotect this, as this has not been subject of any "vandalism". Regards, --AmaryllisGardener talk 01:43, 23 Dizember 2014 (UTC)
Funny how they sarcastically refer to "El Marino" as a "supposed" online newspaper... The page is now unprotected, but if you decide to vandalize it, someone here will most likely block you, Sfs90. --Diego Grez (tauk) 18:50, 25 Dizember 2014 (UTC)

Notability[eedit soorce]

El Marino is the private website of User:Diego Grez. The article has been deleted on fi:wiki and sv:wiki. On en:wiki there is a consensus decision not to consider El Marino (2013) relevant. The article here on sco:wiki has no reliable independent sources whatsoever. Ferrotomb (tauk) 06:48, 18 Mey 2015 (UTC)[Replie]

This is the Scots wiki. The decisions on other wikis are independent from the ones we could take here. The article can be expanded using "reliable independent sources", because they do exist, however, as I pointed out to you in an edit summary, I have no time ATM to do the expansion myself. --Diego Grez (tauk) 14:44, 18 Mey 2015 (UTC)[Replie]
@Ferrotomb: While pages have been deleted before on notability grounds, they weren't as notable as this, and oh wait, we don't even have a notability policy! --AmaryllisGardener talk 15:20, 18 Mey 2015 (UTC)[Replie]
Please note that Ferrotomb has -exaggerating things, IMO- taken this to a RfC on Meta: meta:Requests for comment/Sysop (Diego Grez) abuse on Scots Wikipedia‎ --Diego Grez (tauk) 16:23, 18 Mey 2015 (UTC)[Replie]
Yeah, I know, I was just pointing out that this article shouldn't be deleted on notability grounds. --AmaryllisGardener talk 16:47, 18 Mey 2015 (UTC)[Replie]
The page was just deleted from the eswiki (the Spanish Wiki) on notability and promotional grounds. The editor creates these pages himself, so the last ground could be valid here as well. Cycn (tauk) 06:07, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[Replie]
