Borassus flabellifer is a robust tree an can live mair nor 100 years an reach a heicht o 30 m (98 ft), wi a canopy o green-bluish, leaves several dozen fronds spreadin 3 meters (9.8 ft) across. The very lairge trunk resembles that o the coconut tree an is ringed wi leaf scars. Young palmyra palms grow slowly in the beginnin but then grow faster wi age.
