Thay wint oan tae win the league fur the nixt twa consecutive seasons afore becomin the first club tae be promotit tae Division 1, raither than be elecked. Efter finishin mid-table in thir first yeir in the tap flicht, Ayr appointit thir first manager, Herbert Dainty, wha teuk the club tae fowert place afore gangin fur Dundee Hibs in 1915.
