In Greek meethology, Alcmene or Alcmena (Ancient Greek: Ἀλκμήνη or Ἀλκμάνα [Doric]) wis the wife o Amphitryon bi whom she bore twa bairns, Iphicles an Laonome. She is, houiver, better kent as the mither o Heracles whase faither wis the god Zeus.
