Lower Shabele (Somali: Shabeellaha Hoose) is an admeenistrative region (gobolka) in soothern Somalie. Till 1984, when the regions wur reshaped, it wis pairt o the lairger Benadir region an its caipital wis Mogadishu, but is nou Marka.
Shabeellaha Hoose is bordered bi the Somali regions o Banaadir, Shabeellaha Dhexe, Hiiraan, Bay an Middle Juba an the Indian Ocean. Efter Mogadishu, this is thought tae be the region wi the maist population in Somalie.
Lawer Shabele is named efter the Shebelle River, which passes through it.
