On 15 November 2009, she wis electit as mayor o Sofia. Fandakova received 66.23% o the votes on the elections held on 15 November 2009. The Socialist's Pairty contender Georgi Kadiev receivit 27.71% o the votes, an the global turnoot wis 23.17%.[3]
