Ryal airms o Cambodie
The ryal coat o airms o the Kinrick o Cambodie is the seembol o the Cambodian monarchy. They hae existit in some form close tae the ane depictit since the establishment o the independent Kinrick o Cambodie in 1953. It is the seembol on the Ryal Staundart o the monarch o Cambodie.
Depicted on the coat o airms are twa animals which are a gajasingha (a lion wi an elephant trunk) on the left, an a singha, or a lion, on the richt. Supportit bi the animals are twa ryal five-tiered umbrellas. In atween is a ryal croun wi a ray o licht at its top. Beneath the croun are an Unalome sign, twa pedestaled platters layered on top o each ither wi a sacred sword an a Khmer version o the seembol for Aum sittin on top. The Khmer leid phrase on the bottom the ryal coat o airms translates tae: Preah Chao (ryal or auspicious ruler) - Krung (aurie, or in this case, kinrick) - Kampuchea (Cambodie), thus, Keeng o the Kinrick o Cambodie.
The airms wur discontinued wi the owerthow o the constitutional monarchy durin the Khmer Republic era (1970–1975) an remained in disuise during Democratic Kampuchea (i.e., Khmer Rouge era: 1975-1979), the Fowkrepublic o Kampuchea (1979–1989), an the State o Cambodie (1989–1993). They hae syne been resurrectit for officeeal uise wi the restoration o the monarchy unner Norodom Sihanouk in Cambodie syne 1993.
