Ossetian (Ирон æвзаг, Iron ævzag or Иронау, Ironau), an aa sometimes cawed Ossete,[1] is an East Iranian leid spoken in Ossetie, a region on the slopes o the Caucasus Muntains.

The aurie in Roushie is kent as North Ossetie-Alanie, while the area sooth o the border is referred tae as Sooth Ossetie, recognized bi Roushie, Nicaragua, Venezuela an Nauru as an independent state but by the rest of the international community as part of Georgie. Ossetian speakers number aboot 525,000, sixty percent o whom live in North Ossetie-Alanie, an ten percent in Sooth Ossetie.
