Maysan Province (Arabic: ميسان Maysān‎) is a province in sootheastren Iraq, borderin Iran. The provincial caipital, locatit beside the Tigris, is Amarah. The seicont settlement is Majar Al-Kabir. Prior tae 1976 the province wis kent as Amara Province.

Maysan is a majority Shia province. Its population suffered greatly durin the Iran–Iraq War, durin which it wis a major battlefield, an subsequently post the 1991 Shia Uprisin. The govrenorate is traditionally hame tae mony Marsh Arabs.
