Charlotte Aglaé d'Orléans (20 October 1700 - 19 Januar 1761) wis the third dochter o Philippe d'Orléans, Duke o Orléans an his wife Marie Françoise de Bourbon (hersel an illegitimate dochter o Louis XIV an Madame de Montespan. Having been exiled frae the Modense coort, she returneds tae Versailles where she successfully organised the mairiage atween her dochter Princess Maria Teresa tae the Duke o Penthièvre (then the wealthiest man in Fraunce. After the presentyation o Madame de Pompadour tae coort in 1745 she haed lost her flair at Versailles. She also instigated the mairiage atween her other dochter Princess Maria Fortunata tae the Prince o Conti in 1759. She died in Paris in 1760 an wis buried at the Kirk o the Val de Grâce.

Having haed an affair with Armand de Vignerot du Plessis, Duke o Richelieu, her faither sought to remove his dochter frae further scandal an arranged a mairiage with Francesco III o Modena, heir tae the the sovereign Duke o Modena an member o the powerful hoose o Este. The couple were wed bi proxy on 11 Februar 1720 at the Palais des Tuileries in Paris making her the The Hereditary Princess o Modena.
