Vicálvaro is a umwhile veelage in its awn richt o the province o Madrid. Nouadays is a destrict in the sootheast o Madrid, Spain.

When Spain's Ceevil Gaird (Spaingie: Guardia Civil) wis established in 1844, the first heidquairters o its cavalry wis in Vicálvaro. Franco convertit it intae an artillery barracks for the Brunete Airmored Diveesion, Regiment No. 11. The biggin is nou pairt o the Rey Juan Carlos Varsity.
Vicálvaro wis the steid o Leopoldo O'Donnell's 1854 coup kent as La Vicalvarada,[1] which began Spain's Bienio progresista.
In 2011, a Visigothic necropolis wis uncovered in Vicálvaro.[2]
