Serravalle (San Marino)
Serravalle is a castello locatit in the European republic o San Marino. Wi a population o 9,394 inhabitants (o that a scarce 2,000 ar o foreign origin, conditions 2006) an a surface o 10.53 km², it is nt ae the maist densely populatit municipality in San Marino, but it also contains its lairgest ceety (Dogana). Serravalle is locatit on the edge o the Apennines Mountains.

The toun borders on San Marinese municipalities o Domagnano an Borgo Maggiore an the Italian municipalities Verucchio, Rimini an Coriano. It haes an external borough named Galazzano, where the weather station is locatit. </gallery>

First mentioned in a 962 document, in medieval times this toun wis cawed Castrum Olnani, the village o the elm trees. Serravalle attached tae San Marino in 1463, durin the last territorial expansion o the Republic. Its current name is derived frae the Italian words serra (mountain range) an valle (valley).
