Thay war very seemilar in appearance tae the Class 21 diesel-electrics. The Class 22s war numbered D6300-D6357.[1]

None o the Class 22s haes been preserved but the Project Class 22 Society plans tae big a new locomotive, which will be numbered 6358.[2]
