Zoobin[1] (Javelin) is an Iranian TV-guidit air-tae-surface missile. It is conseedert tae be the first generation of the Iranian PGMs. Developed during the time of Iran–Iraq War, it wis a rocket-pouered version of American M117 bomb equipped with a TV-seeker. Thare are fower smaw aerodynamic control surfaces, an aa in a cruciform pattern, moontit on the motor, which are connectit tae the guidance unit at the front of the missile via control lines running alang the body. The first versions only relied on these four fins but it wis foond that the missile is too unstable. Thus fower lairger triangle-shaped fins were attached tae the center of the body tae provide stability.[2]

The guidance unit at the front of the missile contains a daylight TV seeker that is the same ane uised on Qadr. Zoobin is gieven a US-style 'AGM' designation (AGM-379/20 Zoobin), though its designers say that this haes nae greater significance beyond inventory management and pairts stocks.[3]

Baith Iranian F-4 Phantoms and F-5 Tigers can be equipped by Zoobin though the latter needs a modifeecation tae be able tae guide the missile.[4]
