Publius Vergilius Maro (October 15, 70 BC – September 21, 19 BC), uisually cried Virgil or Vergil /ˈvɜːrəl/ in Inglis, wis an auncient Roman poet o the Augustan period. He is kent for three major wirks o Laitin leeteratur, the Eclogues (or Bucolics), the Georgics, an the epic Aeneid. A nummer o minor poems, collectit in the Appendix Vergiliana, are sometimes attributit tae him.
