Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini (Italian: [vinˈtʃɛntso salvaˈtoːre karˈmɛːlo franˈtʃesko belˈliːni]; 3 November 1801 – 23 September 1835) wis an Italian opera componer,[1] wha wis kent for his lang-flowin melodic lines for which he wis named "the Swan o Catanie".[2] Mony years later, in 1898, Giuseppe Verdi "praised the broad curves o Bellini's melody: 'thare are extremely lang melodies as na-ane ense haed ever made afore' "[3]
