Tweedbank (Scots Gaelic: Bruach Thuaidh) is a lairge veelage sooth-east o Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, Scotland. It is an outer suburb or satellite development o Galashiels, on the ither (eastren) side o the River Tweed. The population o Tweedbank at the latest census is 2,101.[1]
Geography[eedit | eedit soorce]
Tweedbank, as the name suggests, sits adjacent tae the River Tweed, and approximately 500 metres doun river frae Abbotsford House, the historic home o Sir Walter Scott. Tweedbank haes a pond kent as Gunknowe Loch, a restaurant Herges on The Loch, several shops and a railwey station, which is the terminus o the Borders Railway.
