Talagante (Spaingie pronunciation: [talaˈɣante]) is a commune an the capital ceety o the province o the same name in the Santiago Metropolitan Region o central Chile. The wird Talagante in Quechua comes frae talacanta, meanin "Lazo de Hechicero", which wis the proper name o the curaca, or ruler, wha dominatit this central valley on behauf o the Inca Empire durin the arrival o the Spaniards.
