The Airmed Forces o the Slovak Republic wur diveedit frae Czechoslovak airmy efter dissolution o Czechoslovakie on Januar 1, 1993. Slovakia jyned NATO on 29 mairch 2004.[7] Frae 2006 the airmy transformed intae a fully professional organisation an compulsory militar service wis abolished.[8][9][10] Slovak airmed forces nummered 15,996 uniformed personnel an 3,761 ceevilians in 2014.[11][12]
