Scum is the debut album bi the Inglish grindcore baund, Napalm Death.
The Side A o the Scum album wis originally recorded for £50.00 at Rich Bitch studio (Birmingham, Ingland) in August 1986: it wis intended to form part o a split release with the Inglis crossover thrash baund Atavistic on Manic Ears (Bristol, Ingland). Efter an extensive line-up change, the seicont half o Scum wis recorded in Mey 1987 at Rich Bitch studio. The album wis released as a single album through Earache in Julie 1987. Notably, anerlie drummer Mick Harris played on baith sides o the album.
The sang "You Suffer" wis listed in the Guinness Book o Records as the warld's shortest sang; the track is precisely 1.316 seconds long.
The first pressing o the CD (1988) came as a 54-track CD including the From Enslavement To Obliteration album an fower bonus tracks. In 1994, the first twa albums wur re-released separately.
The album cover wis designed bi Bill Steer's Carcass bandmate, Jeffrey Walker. The album covers came in varied colors: orange, gold, green, blue, an yellow.
