Sayaxché is a municipality in the El Petén depairtment o Guatemala, on the Río La Pasión river. In 2000, it haed 47,693 inhabitants.
The ceety wis foondit in 1874 tae provide accommodation for forest wirkers o Jamet Sastré loggin company. It obtain a municipal status in 1929.
El Rosario Naitional Pairk is locatit juist east o the toun. The airchaeological steids o Ceibal an Dos Pilas are locatit athin the municipal boondaries.
