Rigoletto (pronounced [riɡoˈletto]) is an opera in three acts[1] bi Giuseppe Verdi. The Italian libretto wis written bi Francesco Maria Piave based on the play Le roi s'amuse bi Victor Hugo. Despite serious ineetial problems wi the Austrick censors wha haed control ower northren Italian theatres at the time, the opera haed a triumphant premiere at La Fenice in Venice on 11 Mairch 1851.
