A rhyme is a repeteetion o seemilar soonds (or the same soond) in twa or mair wirds, maist eften in the final syllables o lines in poems an sangs.[1] The wird rhyme is an aa a pars pro toto ("a pairt (taken) for the whole") that means a short poem, such as a rhymin couplet or ither brief rhymin poem such as nursery rhymes.
