She wis also a maternal great-aunt o Prince Philip, Duke o Edinburgh, the consort o Queen Elizabeth II. She wis ane-time owner o the Beloselsky-Belozersky Pailace in Saunt Petersburg. She wis also a sister o the future Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig o Hesse an bi Rhine as well as Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (Alix o Hesse). She wis coorted bi her cousin Wilhelm II, German Emperor but refused his proposal o mairiage. Friedrich II, Grand Duke o Baden also asked for her but but again she refused.
