Pidurutalagala (Sinhala: පිදුරුතලාගල, pronoonced [ˌpidurutaˈlaːɡələ], Straw Plateau Rock), or Mount Pedro in Inglis an Moont Pedro in Scots, is an ultra prominent peak, an the tallest moontain in Sri Lanka, at 2,524 m (8,281 ft).[1] It is situatit North-North-East frae the toun o Nuwara Eliya, an is easily visible frae maist auries o the Central Province. The peak is currently designatit as an "Ultra-heich security zone", and is protectit bi a lairge militar base; being strictly off limits tae the general public.

On 1 Mairch 2010, a smaw wildfire broke oot ower the moontains's forest cover. The fire destroyed 3 acres (0.012 km2) o forest, afore being dousit bi the Sri Lanka Air Force an nearly 300 local residents.[2][3]
